Olli Soikkeli – Joonas Tuuri Duo

This duo has played a lot together over the years. Their repertoire consists of carefully selected and rarely heard jazz standards which also include bossa nova classics. The duo also specializes in other Brazilian music and the audience will hear Brazilian guitar music rarely heard in Finland. The duo’s chamber music sound comes into its rights in the atmospheric and intimate Aspö chapel.

Despite his young age, Olli Soikkeli has become one of the world’s most respected Gypsy jazz guitarists. Soikkeli, who lives in New York, has performed alongside world stars at jazz clubs and festivals around Europe and the United States. Korpo Sea Jazz 2024’s artistic director Joonas Tuuri is one of Finland’s most sought-after jazz bassists who plays in dozens of different ensembles in addition to his own band.
