Portside Jazz

PORTSIDE JAZZ is little by little becoming a tradition. Like before we have mixed the musicians playing on the festival to form new combinations. The groups which are in turn this summer are numbered 37, 38 and 39. During the years we have heard on the terrace, in addition to the most common jazz instruments, viola da gamba, cello, bandoneon and steel pan as well as a beat box master. This year’s novelties will be violins and an ukulelebass when JPPs fiddlers and the bass player of the Herd trio will jump on the stage. Luumu Kaikkonen will play the guitar in two different bands. He is the only musician who has performed on all Korpo Sea Jazz festivals since 1989. PORTSIDE is always a delightful part of the festival and it serves well as a warmer up for the evening. The Main Concert of the festival will start at 7 pm. and will be followed by the delicacies on the buffet as well as the hilarious final jam session of Korpo Sea Jazz 2025.
