Riikka Keränen Group

Jazz singer & composer Riikka Keränen’s music combines elements of post-bop jazz with the tones and sensitivity of a pop-oriented approach. With his quartet, founded in 2019, Keränen performs atmospheric and modern jazz from his acclaimed debut album A Vision of a Garden which was released by Flame Jazz Records in February 2022. The English stories move back in time from an emotional exploration of Cameroon’s rainforests, to the time of the Pharaohs and Queen Nefertiti.

In addition to songs from the album the concert will feature unreleased compositions from the upcoming release. Through the new songs, listeners can dive deeper into Keränen’s musical world and get a glimpse into her unique creative process. The quartet’s atmospheric music comes to life in the beautiful medieval Korppoo church.
