Verneri Pohjola & Jori Huhtala

The Korpo Sea Jazz forest concert tradition continues in a new setting! This summer,
we will listen to how the forest responds when music is played beside the lookout
tower near Verkan guest harbour, surrounded by beautiful archipelago scenery. As
the forest grows dim in the sunset, it will surely respond magnificently when played to
by trumpeter Verneri Pohjola and bassist Jori Huhtala.
A rare duo concert by these two masters of their instruments is in store – so rare, in
fact, that it is the first of its kind! Their previous collaborations include Mortality,
performing compositions by Tapio Ylinen, and the Pohjola-Riippa Quartet.
Expect spontaneous expressiveness, sensitivity and virtuosity. The sounds of trumpet
and double bass resonate and intertwine beautifully high upon the rocks – and the
forest responds!
