Korpo Sea Jazz 2024 culminates in the closing concert featuring two fantastic quartets, offering both modern and traditional jazz. This will be an evening filled with the celebration of jazz music, where solos and spontaneity will not be spared!

Joonas Tuuri Quartet

The artistic director of this year’s Korpo Sea Jazz, Joonas Tuuri, will be joined on stage by three talented musicians: Toomas Keski-Säntti,  Anssi Tirkkonen, and Ilmari Rönkä. Formed in 2017, the Joonas Tuuri Quartet specializes in modern jazz. At the core of Tuuri’s composed music are beautiful and catchy melodies, strong varied moods, as well as well-polished ensemble playing and improvisation. The band’s debut album, Dimensions, was released in 2022 through Eclipse Music and has gained significant attention and a tremendous number of streams on international playlists on Spotify and YouTube. For instance, the track November immediately made its way to Spotify’s Coffee Table Jazz playlist upon the album’s release and has already garnered nearly three million listens.

Olli Soikkeli Quartet

World-class guitarist Olli Soikkeli will perform at the spectacular closing concert of Korpo Sea Jazz alongside Grammy-winning pianist Marian Petrescu, bassist Joonas Tuuri, and drummer Aleksi Heinola. Based in New York, Soikkeli has shared the stage with jazz legends at clubs and festivals across Europe and the United States. In 2016, Huffington Post and All About Jazz magazines selected Soikkeli’s album “Travels” with the Rhythm Future Quartet as one of the best jazz albums of the year. In Korpo, be prepared for virtuosic performances, irresistible groove, and a stylish presentation featuring carefully chosen jazz classics.
