Jam Session Grand, Host: Gunu Karjalainen

As the July Saturday evening begins to grow dim and Korpo Sea Jazz 2026
approaches its finale, it’s time to light the candles on the “jazz club” tables and enjoy
the festival’s spectacular – and perhaps even surprising – closing jam session in
great company with wonderful musicians.
Shared interaction is at the very heart of jazz jams – both among the musicians and
between the audience and the performers. This joyful, communal atmosphere
inspires the musicians to play ever more dazzling solos and to improvise more boldly
and creatively. And that, in turn, encourages the audience to respond with even
louder applause! Which then inspires the musicians even further! Verbal improvisation and acrobatics by Gunu “Sweet lips” Karjalainen.
