Portside Jazz

The much-loved and highly popular free Portside Jazz concerts, launched in 2011,
celebrate their 15th anniversary this year! So far, we have experienced 39 different
and unique line-ups over the years. The groups are formed from the artists
performing at the festival, creating interesting and varied combinations where
musicians get the chance to play with people they do not normally perform with. The
result is entertaining and fresh interpretations of jazz standards commonly found in
the repertoire – and occasionally some lesser-known material as well.
Over these 15 years, hundreds of musicians have taken part in these consecutively
numbered ensembles, and the atmosphere has always been relaxed and full of fun.
This year, we enter a new decade in the series with Portside 40, 41 and 42.
