Sibis Jazz Youngsters

From RH-Quintet to Sibis Jazz Youngsters! In 2011 Korppoo Sea Jazz House Band took over from RH-Quintet the daytime gigs in the center of Korppoo and in the guest harbor of Nauvo. KSJHB consists of musicians living in Korppoo, permanently or part time, and strengthened annually with the current Artistic Director. After thirteen festivals the house band may take a day off since it will be replaced by the students of the Youth Department of the Sibelius-Academy. Young people between the age of 13 and 18 years are studying to play in three different ensembles under the direction of Ape Anttila as well as improvisation, aesthetics and the general rules of jazz music under direction by special teachers. We will hear mostly familiar jazz standards as well as a few newer compositions.
